So I'm seriously considering joining the bandwagon of artists for APEcon 2011 in San Francisco. I'm not satisfied with what I have right now (on DA or otherwise), but I feel I have a few pieces that have potential to be, if I give them proper detail and finish them, or take a solid character design and place it in an appropriate environment. So, what I ask the public is

1. What on my page (if any), do you think has good potential to become a print. What (if anything), would you buy from me if you were walking past a table of my stuff?

2. How much should I charge for prints? I know cost of processing and size will play an essential role, but anyone who would offer a ballpark figure would be much appreciated.

3. On the pieces that you do think would make a good print, what critique would you give to improve it/them?

Dear DeviantArt,

Please stop whoring yourself out to furries and porno-enthusiasts/fetishists. In today's DDs alone: 3 naked chicks, 2 portraits of attractive girls chosen mostly because they're attractive, and a gazelle bust with homosapien tatas. The porn nun is "artistic" because it was shot in black and white? I wish they would tag a diff between photos made for penises and made for people seeking tasteful nude figures.

Right now I'm taking commissions. I have worked with multiple media and can work graphic design or illustration in digital or traditional media.

The first option of how to arrange payment is to decide upon a total price up front (based on materials, difficulty, time) and then once confirmed 25% payment up front.

Option two is to pay by the hour. Once again pricing is relative to assignment and workload but it should waver close to $14-15/hr.

If you're interested, please send me a note/message here or email ninjerina@gmail.com.

Have a great day!

When browsing around on here I find lots of really cool photography, digital, and traditional art that seems virtually ignored in the community. It's pretty lame creepy furry art of foxes with big boobs are more popular than most of the fine artists on here. I also find it weird when I log on and see what was "popular" today that next to some fan art of Pokemon there is some blatant pornographic image of someone's boobs. Anyone see something wrong with either of those things?

I know it is common for an artist to undergo periods of time where not much is accomplished. While I have progressed a small amount, sometimes I wonder if I have "leveled-off". After this past semester, it seems like I have not progressed as I should. It's very frustrating and fills me with futility. As I'm not a fine artist nor illustration major (animation major) people have attempted assuring me that it shouldn't bug me that much and I should just be concerned with the quality of my demo reel. While the demo reel is indeed the most important, many top studios (Pixar, etc) want good life drawing incorporated with other materials. It seems that on my charcoal work the more time I spend on something the more I just eff up my work. I know I should probably try working on charcoal more over the summer but I am plain pissed with the medium. If given a fire right now I would probably toss my figure drawing final into the flames. Arrgh
